I purchased a double fan of Jamaican Music in the fall of 2007. It was the most I had ever paid for a daylily, $25 (and very rarely spent more than that since then on one). I must have given some of it away because now I only have a small clump of about 8 fans, although I don't believe it multiplied very fast for me anyway.
In 2009, I did record branching and bud count. I had 3 scapes, all with 2-way branching and bud counts of 11, 13, and 13 on the scapes.
This is what it looked like on 7/11/11. I believe that when I planted the double fan, I must have divided it and put one fan on either side of that 4x4. The clump on the left is gone now, so that is why I think I must have given some of it away.
6/30/13.
7/3/18. The clump that I have left seems to have gone into decline. I let the cosmos grow up around it, so maybe that is the problem.
This year, 2019, Jamaican Music probably has about 8 fans, but it did not produce any scapes. Or if it did, they withered up and died like so many others did after all the rain we had this year.
I love the color of the blooms and hope it will bloom next year. I don't know if it ever reached the 37" height that it is registered at, but it probably got between 28-30" tall.
