I just received a double fan from Connie Horner on the Lily Auction on July 19th. Her plants always do well for me. Hopefully a good report will come next spring.

Shorter than registered here, but not in the foliage. Colorful, multiplies, but probably a marginal plant for the North.

Mine has never been as tall as registered either, probably closer to 24", but above the foliage. It isa good bloomer and very pretty. I have had mine 7 or 8 years and it has come through below 0 temps, and we get no snow cover so I think it is pretty hardy.

I purchased a double fan of Jamaican Music in the fall of 2007. It was the most I had ever paid for a daylily, $25 (and very rarely spent more than that since then on one). I must have given some of it away because now I only have a small clump of about 8 fans, although I don't believe it multiplied very fast for me anyway.

In 2009, I did record branching and bud count. I had 3 scapes, all with 2-way branching and bud counts of 11, 13, and 13 on the scapes.

This is what it looked like on 7/11/11. I believe that when I planted the double fan, I must have divided it and put one fan on either side of that 4x4. The clump on the left is gone now, so that is why I think I must have given some of it away.

7/3/18. The clump that I have left seems to have gone into decline. I let the cosmos grow up around it, so maybe that is the problem.

This year, 2019, Jamaican Music probably has about 8 fans, but it did not produce any scapes. Or if it did, they withered up and died like so many others did after all the rain we had this year.

I love the color of the blooms and hope it will bloom next year. I don't know if it ever reached the 37" height that it is registered at, but it probably got between 28-30" tall.

Mine is just starting to flower. I raised this from a tiny 3" fan sent to me several years ago. It has been a struggle but it is going somewhere.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

It is amazing that those tiny 3" fans grow! I have had that happen before.
