I have no whites ... I have a prejudice against white flowers because I think they all look dirty or old very quickly, but they sure pop and make everything else pop.

Do you have any nice one's to recommend for next season?

I feel like you about white so I'm also curious to see what others like.

One white, part of a larger package deal, is growing - Lady Liberty.

I'll report when it blooms.

Thanks Arlene, I hope we hear from others with recommendations, and I look forward to your report on "Lady Liberty" . I'm a sucker for a good name, and I love that one.

Names also influence my choices in all plants. I have Teddy on the dahlia list for 2020 (Swan Island) only because of my most special dog, Teddy. Of course, having one on the list is often the start of something larger.

I am also not a white fan, but had to grow a few plants this year for a September wedding. Here are the 3 I'm keeping. Pics aren't that great, as they aren't my favorites. Cute pups, ladies! Smiling

I'm also big on names, I grow a white one named Horse Feathers, as my grandpa always said that when we played cards...looking for one that disappeared named Peter, which is this rowdy kitten's name.

These are a couple I grow that have been easy to overwinter and also make tubers, but don't qualify for the "completely white" category.

Midnight Moon was one of the three I first purchased, before internet days, from a black and white print catalog.

I tend to agree with everyone else that white can seem to get dirty fast and show every imperfection but this white Dahlia was a winner at the Central States Dahlia Society Show this past Sept. It was a real stunner!

I've also grown AC Casper and Snowbound. This is a picture of AC Casper
