Not sure why I waited until now to take pix. I will do this in sections. Start with my 2nd biggest plant, philodendron just north of a large Maple tree in my backyard. My south carport which is attached to my carport. Messy section of Philos. Then a tour of the inside of the south carport. Lots of Sansevieria.

I will strongly recommend these carports to anyone looking for a outdoor place for their plants. They are 10 foot wide, 20 feet long, 9 foot tall at the peak. 6 feet tall at the sides. You can see the 4X4 upright beams I added to help bear the winter loads of ice and snow. They were well tested this last winter. One night we got 1/2" of ice, another night where it got down to -32F, one day where we had 14" of snow. No problems. They are supposed to be a 2 man job for erection. I did both by myself. Whew. I have them staked to the ground and tied to the existing carport. We had wind gusts over 50mph, nothing moved. Nice bright filtered light, no rain, no wind - great protection. All of succulents are in carports. I am so glad I got them !

Start with over view of NE side of my house. 3 areas. Shade fabric just north of porch, carport, another shade fabric north of that. The tropicals are under shade fabrics so the do get rained on but little direct sun. Then the north area, last pix showing some of the shade fabric. 3rd pix includes my white philo sport that is putting out its 5th in a row all white leaf. I think it likes it there.

Now the north carport. Starting with my biggest, oldest house plant. All succulents.

No wonder your plants are all so happy, Gene. You've given them such a great growing environment.

I just loved going through all these pictures. I also think about how each one of those pots gets moved twice a year, by hand. Just amazing.

I checked and the normals for right now are 77F and 56F. It is 43F this morning. I really do not want to start moving plants inside for another say 4 weeks.

I leave my plants out until Nov. I think it has helped me to not ever have any bugs indoors waiting for it to get really chilly. If it looks like we are going to get frost I throw a blanket and a tarp over the blankets.
