It's been quite some time since I've been here. To be honest, I completely forgot I had joined. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

At any rate, my little peperomia has sprouted out the bottom of her pot. I thought they liked to be a bit root bound, but I'm not certain of that.

I'm wondering if anyone has one in leca and if it's doing well. I'm gradually converting my plants over, but am a bit hesitant with this little girl.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your Chinese Money Plant (Pilea peperomioides) (not Peperomia) looks very happy and healthy! That's a new tuber growing out from the drainage hole and I think I see tiny leaves forming on the tip? You could cut the tuber at the bottom of the pot and lay it atop the soil with just a thin layer of soil covering it, leaving the leaf end above the soil.

If you do decide to re-pot, I'd suggest using a pot only a little larger and planted at the same level as it currently is growing.

Thank you and, yes, does have little leaves at the end! So cute! ☺️

I really didn't want to repot just yet. Mama plant has popped out 3 babies since I got her in June and seems to be doing well.

I'll give that a try - wish me luck! Thanks again & have a great night!

And I don't know why I put peperomia either - I think I just had pep on the brain 😁

My preference would be to not disturb the mama plant too! No sense in stressing her if she is happy and healthy. Good luck and keep us posted on how the separated tuber does!

Lin!!! Update: So I bravely cut the tuber, lightly dusted it with rooting hormone & then gently dug a little trench with a chopstick 😁 to place the tube a bit through the other babies. I covered it with soil, but didn't tap it down - I let watering do that. And look!!! πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š Thank you for the advice!
