Everything is now gone in my garden. But I've found that members of the Halcyon / June family last well into the autumn with a minimum of slug damage.

I agree June was always last to go when I could grow them without all the deer problems. Last night I even purchased some halloween decor that in the past that was helpful keeping the deer away.

I found a 7 ft witch that is sound and movement activated that goes up and down, arm and hands movement, light up screaming. Sounded like how I chase them away. Hurray!

But if you start them now, you need some good lights. I like to start mine in February and I don't need to keep them under lights as long as such space is limited.
