I am looking for a cutting of Yellow thanksgiving Cactus. I am looking to give it to a friend.
If anyone can part with a piece of it, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!

I just got one last year and it is small. Getting ready to bloom this year so I can be sure it is yellow. Come next year I can give some.

What is the name of your yellow Schlumbergera, Stush? I got 'Limelight Dancer' a couple years ago - calling it yellow would be a stretch.

I also noticed that you have a ton of collection of snake plants.
I have a Sansevieria Golden Hahnii ( I am guessing that's what it is!)
How do they propagate?

Thank You!

Jqsen, Sanseveria can propagate by leaf cuttings but they will loose the variegation. Best way is to wait until it produces root rhizomes that break the ground level called 'pups'. After they are big enough (one year) can be removed and potted up by themselves. You could remove them earlier but some times they don't grow so well.

Daisy, Purchased one from Mich. Bulb with no name but 'Yellow Christmas Cactus'. Almost died due to being shipped soaking wet. Only one small segment survived but is now a nice stem and with a bud. Mike on another site gave me cuttings early this year and they all took and now got buds on them as well. Waiting to see what they look like.

I posted a new thread of showing my Thanksgiving cactus in bloom. Others as they open up. My 'Madame Butterfly' has really out done itself this year.

Here's mine that I purchased from 'Farmers Seed'. Came wet and rotted and lucky a piece of it survived. It had a few buds last year but never opened. This year just now. First bud to open. Was called Yellow Christmas Cactus.

Got some cuttings from a friend earlier this year that rooted very nicely and now ready to bloom also. Waiting to see their colors.

Whitton Greenhouses (https://www.whittongreenhouses...) sells 2 and 4 inch pots in all different colors, including some yellows, at pretty reasonable prices. You can also get cuttings on Ebay and Etsy in every color pretty cheaply, although you'd have to root them yourself of course.

I have gotten Holiday cactus from Whitton's. They are always beautiful plants but, not yellow. Check my photo of Limelight Dancer (above).

That's not the only yellowish one. 'Outono Brazil' looks like it's true golden yellow, especially in other photos online.

Once you accumate the plant it can take full sun but does best in bright shade to part day sun. My variegated Madame Butterfly can only take bright shade and a protected spot from wind. It is very weak plant which can not grow upright. Best in a hanging basket which it will hang over. A strong wind and leaf sections will fall off.

Once they are done blooming, I let the soil dry out some but while in bud, I water more. Never let them sit in water or get too wet.

Seems like every nursery or breeder has their own names and I don't have any named varieties except the variegated one.

I got my yellow Christmas Cactus today. It is a really nice plant (actually 3 plants)!

My plants live in an unobstructed north facing window. I am far enough north, the windows get sun in summer time.

Is that your first order from them? I've heard both good and terribly bad stuff about Hirt's.

Yes, first order. The reviews seem to be love 'em or hate 'em. I thought I'd take a chance but used PayPal so I could get my money back if I had to. I also bought an Amaryllis bulb - its huge and healthy. Now, if it just blooms the right color. Smiling
