Hi there,
I'm speculating about that, since I don't know for sure it is a seed pod, although it seems likely. No other clue, unfortunately :-/

@pedron....I think it looks like a seed pod from a plant called Pussy Willow. I could be way off, however!

I looked up Pussy Willow in the National Gardening Data base and it's not a Pussy Willow. I can see how Bubbles would think that because Pussy Willow has white fuzz on the seeds too.

A good clue would be a pic of the whole plant, or even a branch. How big is it.... 2-3mm. or....?

Its not a Ulex europaeus/Gorse, because the seeds up above hang down from the tree.

Information given is very sparse.

More photos would be good, this time of the entire plant and some leaves.

Hello everyone,
I returned to the site of the mysterious plant, and I have two additional clues:
1) it looks like some kind of shrub/bush (the stems are really quite thin and max out at my height);
2) there was a second strange-looking thing hanging from it, besides the furry pods, which I photographed and include here;

Any new guesses?

Thank you in advance!

Well, I think I found the answer! Cytisus scoparius (aka common broom).

Thank you again for all the help!

Are you sure?
I am not seeing anything in your pics that resemble Cytisus scoparius (aka common broom).
It would help to see more of this shrub...leaves, stem etc.
