Roses
Last year, I discovered the rose breeder, Junie Burns, who lives and breeds roses up in Oregon. I had a short conversation with her last year as I fell in love with one of her roses, Burlesque. It so reminded me of the rose, Just Imagine, which never came from Ludwigs (unfortunately) and is not available here in the US. Last year she told me that Heirloom was going to be selling this rose. I thought it was going to be available this year and so I have been checking their website over and over to see if it is available. Nada. Nothing.

So I called Junie again this morning to ask about Burlesque. She stated it will be an offering by Heirloom for 2020. Ugh! Need to wait a few more months for it. It is fragrant, a great bloomer, disease resistant and STRIPES!!!! We had such a nice conversation about her rare breed chickens that she has, the roses she breeds, etc. What a wonderful person! Just a delight.

Here is the rose I am talking about and can't wait until Heirloom offers it (not that I know where I am going to put it!).

Here is Just Imagine offered by Ludwigs that is not available (although Beth has one in her garden--lucky girl!).

I have two Burlesque in my garden; I bought them from Heirloom in the Spring of 2021. There was no bloom in the first year when I planted. This year, it blooms more. One of the two with canes taller than 6 feet, which I don't know what to do (I'm a beginner). But, I am writing because I LOVE BURLESQUE FRAGRANCE. I could not describe the fragrance, it is deep; it is intoxicated, because you smell once, you just keep coming back to smell it again. I am looking for a writing about this rose, which should be written to tell how remarkable the rose is.

About the picture: This is the first full year the plant in the ground. The is a pot next to plant for it to lean on; the plant is in-ground.
