Does anyone recognise this Dahlia. It appeared in my garden growing between a mauve cactus type and Annes Delight (3rd and 4th photo's). It seems to be a mix of the two - or is it the Cactus in a form it has not shown before. This will be the third year the plants have been in this bed. I don't remember purchasing anything like it. The blooms are about 6" across and the edge on the petals does fade as the bloom matures - see last photo.

I'm not sure which one it is, but it looks like Doris Day.

Oh Luke & Trish ! We all loved Doris Day.
This name-sake is a stunner.

Dear Trish, I too have been searching for an ID to what appears to be the same Dahlia as yours which I planted a few months back. I contacted the growers in Victoria and they said it was very special. We are so lucky to have this gorgeous thing.

After much searching I think our mauve dahlia is called Mariner.

That's a beautiful dahlia whatever the variety! I don't see Mariner listed on Dahlia Addicts.

Welcome to NGA and the dahlia forum! We love photos!

It is certainly a bit different and a bit of a mystery. It's rather fun. Thanks every one for your comments and suggestions.
