OK, so I don't grow this and have never grown it, but have seen it in many gardens over many years of garden tours, and I DO have a funny story about it.

The first time I ever saw this daylily in a garden was on the first garden tour I attended for my new daylily club's garden tour. ( it may have been our first tour, as the club had recently formed.) This would have been around 1997, when I first joined AHS and my local club. My mom was with me, and our first tour garden had the daylilies lined up in long rows of rectangular beds. We lined up and walked down one row and up another, as the space was limited, and there, somewhere in the middle, was MILK CHOCOLATE.
Upon seeing it, I whispered to my Mom," That is the ugliest daylily I've ever seen!"and she agreed. Then, not a minute later, we heard this woman directly behind us exclaim, " That is the most beautiful daylily I've ever seen!"

I still laugh when thinking of that story, and it's certainly still applicable today, isn't it. We each have our own preferences. It's served as a good lesson to me over the years of growing daylilies.

This is a new to me day lily as of this fall. I hope to have something to report next summer.

I have had Milk Chocolate in my garden now for 3 seasons. It now has made a nice clump summer of 2019. It is pretty tall, and has strong stems, that do not bend or lean or fall over
in our Kansas winds.

I like the tan and brown dayliles. Milk Chocolate is one of my favorite oldies. Grin
