I love house plants so much but always kill them ughhh. I recently moved it from a table with more light to shader spot because it didn't look too good and now the leaves are turning yellow. Not sure if it's light or I'm watering it too much so wanted to find out name so I could look up care instructions to trouble shot.

Low light plant, water thoroughly then allow to drain excess water and dry out. Not too rock dry, it is not a desert plant Smiling You can easily compare weight of your container, it will feel heavy upon watering and goes lighter as the soil dries out. Or you can use bamboo skewers, poke the soil, if the stick comes out still damp wet, delay watering another day or so.

It is normal for older lower leaves to die off first.

I grow mine mounted or in damp sphagnum moss or orchid bark. I can NOT grow this plant in a container of soil. I have tried many times and it just doesn't work for me.
These plants like to climb and will 'shingle' if you give them a flat surface or a tree. You can see one growing here on a tree with a Monstera dubia

And this one has absolutely no soil. It was mounted to this coir covered fence post as a completely independent epiphyte

I also have some indoors in an open planted aquarium with no soil, just mainly orchid bark that is climbing out of the tank

This way of growing is not for everyone but it is the only way that works for me

Thank You! Thank You!

tarev- Thanks so much for the suggestions, sounds like I've been over-watering it, that has always been a problem for me D'Oh! Love the bamboo stick idea, definitely going to try that because I don't trust my self with comparing weights haha really great tips though! thank you, thank you!

Gina1960- Thanks for sharing those photos and love the sound of your open planted aquarium Smiling If it survives the winter I would love to try moving it outside to my porch. Will need to figure out if it will survive there first. I absolutely love climbing plants and here I unknowingly had one in my possession all along Hilarious! love it! Thank you so much!
