I've grown Frank Gladney since the mid 80's, and even though it's a tad short, and has that one wonky petal, I still like it. Ken Durio was doing some interesting work with converted plants in those days, and it was quite the thing to have. I prefer green throats, but Frank Gladney has a nice creamy amber throat and watermark that blends well with the tropical color. It's a strong grower, makes husky fans, and puts on a good show in a clump. In spite of its low height, the flowers aren't buried in the foliage. The flowers are accurately registered at 6.5 inches, and because all the segments are large and wide, they hold their size throughout the season.
