Do you have any seedlings blooms from HNF? Please share your photos. Would love to see what HNF kids look like. I may have 3 seedlings from Dragon Hunter X HNF blooms next year. I have other HNF crosses currently stratifying in the fridge. What other HNF crosses are you looking forward to see blooms next summer?

I had a few early ones this year, but am expecting a ton to bloom this summer. Last year, that is mostly what I bought on the LA.

If You Can't Fix It...
I don't have any blooming yet... have several unbloomed seedlings and quite a few seeds to plant yet this year...

The seedlings that should bloom next year are... and I cant wait to see them:

Vampire Academy x HNF
Indominous Rex x HNF
Vampire Cloak x HNF
Raised by Wolves x HNF
Deadliest Catch x HNF
Heartbeat of Heaven x HNF

There were a couple mixed HNF seed auctions recently on LA where where the possible crosses involved many kids of HNF with HNF... I won one of those seed sets... here is the Pic used... so "Many" in this pic are supposed to be kids of HNF...

Sue, I really like the looks of that 2nd one! Alas, I do not have HNF. I look forward to seeing some more of its kids next year, though.

And, because of what I am noticing about the kids so far, this year I bought crosses that should produce features I want to cross back to HNF kids to improve them.

Sue, I really like the first one! It looks like the seedling bloom has a thick and heavy substance. I too have some kids with Woverine as a parent that I like very much. I also like your Tet RFK X HNF cross, Sue! I wonder whether the kids will take after RFK or HNF or both.

Jeff, with parents like those pictured, the offsprings are bound to be fantastic. I hope your Indominous Rex x HNF seedlings will bloom next summer. I would love to see what those look like.

Mary and Sue, I also have Bass Gibson X HNF! Perhaps we can compare blooms when our seedlings blooms in a few years. I am really really interested to see what kids this cross from yours, Mary will produce, LIKE A GEE SIX X HNF. Looks like a winning cross to me!

I am so looking forward to see everyone's HNF blooms next summer! I think all the crosses are very interesting. Can I ask what trait(s) you all wish to get from these offspring? Are you looking for pinched petals, colors, UF form, teet, or something elses from HNF?

Hopefully next year these will be blooming:

Man Eater x HNF
Mount Ararat x HNF
Lillian's Third Bite x HNF
Ring The Bells Of Heaven x HNF
Assortment of selected seedlings x HNF (from Emery)- Sue I got a batch of these too.
All the seeds were from the LA, a couple crosses were from bonus seeds.

Planting this year:

Shirley Koch x HNF (bonus seeds)
Love At First Bite x HNF

I like the UF form of HNF but would like to see stronger color and of course more teeth! Just never know what you will get, and it will be exciting to see everyone's blooms next year. All I've noticed so far with the seedlings I've got is that they are mostly all dormant. Too soon to tell on a couple of them. I just hope they all come back in the spring. Crossing Fingers! It will be fun to compare them all!

Karen, I am interested in heavy substance (and this has been showing up impressively!), large unusual form, strong edges, and good foliage. I have been noticing that the somewhat toothy or crenelated edging of the kids is concentrated typically at the tips of petals, and is often absent. That is why I am buying (or trying to buy) toothy crosses to work back into the line.

I am also pleasantly surprised at the color variation I am seeing. It says to me that interesting color can be crossed into the line, too. I bought some non-HNF broken color crosses this year hoping to do that, and even Clown Pants crosses. Who knows what could come out of HNF?? So much genetic material there!

I forgot to say (my garden map isn't in front of me) that I have an Explosion in the Paint Factory x HNF cross in the garden, hasn't bloomed yet. And a Shirley Koch cross, and a President Ronald Reagan x HNF which I think was a bonus, that did bloom, a very large heavy white with a burbly edge.

Mary, love those crosses! So interesting, the GEE SIX one I think I remember seeing.... can't wait to see what you get from these.

Trina, wow that is a great lineup too, good to get the toothy crosses going with HNF. I have to look up some of the ones you have.

Jeff, good list, good idea to get the toothy crosses!

Karen, looking forward to your results! Out of 500 various seedlings planted, the pink Wolverine x HNF cross was the first one to bloom in the garden. And then one by one each of its siblings bloomed. They are such strong growers!

We could start a HNF club, LOL!

Heavy substance, the ruffles, beautiful watermark, large size. I love the pod parent, Hippopotamus, and hope to get that one some day.

What is HOH?

I bought Gee Six after I fell in love with HNF and knew I'd never be able to afford it. I'm thinking to breed some of the Gee Six x HNF seedlings back to Gee Six to see what I get. Also, some of the other things I've put with Gee Six. It just never stops! Hurray!

Hippopotamus is one of those plants that I have never seen for sale on the LA - closely held for hybridizing I think. I keep looking.

I think it is a great idea to combine Gee Six and HNF crosses! Similar in appearance, large crispates.... HNF will add thicker petals and possibly more vigor. Please keep up posted on this!

Oh man! You guys are getting me all excited and hyped! Next summer can't come soon enough! I love to hear everyone's exciting plans for HNF seedlings and potential crosses. Yes, we should have HNF club! I am sure there will be many participants.

Trina, all wonderful crosses. I hope they will all bloom next year particularly Maneater and Ring the Bells of Heaven. I wonder if the white teeth and edge will carry over to the seedlings from these parents. Can't wait to see their blooms!

Wow Sue! EitPF X HNF - hope you will get some broken colors in the kids! Awesome cross! You must have paid a bundle for that! That's a great strategy of doing back crosses on the seedlings with predominant HNF traits.

Steve, I am now all green with envy! Green Grin! Green Grin! Watermarks and HNF! Clown pants and HNF - potent combinations! Love to see what these crosses will produce.

Having not seen HNF, I don't know much about its positive traits other than it is a gorgeous flower. From the seedlings that you have grown so far Sue, do you see many traits of HNF in them? Do they all possess heavy substance?
