So I bought this years ago in a vintage shop. Pretty funky huh? Its a thinner porcelain glazed inside and out presumable made to be a vase. Its not really very large, the top opening is maybe the diameter of a large coffee mug. I've never used it because its sealed, I was scared to try and drill drainage holes even with a masonry bit because I was afraid it would wreck it.

Do you think I could get away with just stuffing it with damp moss and putting a brom in?

I wouldn't want to take the chance of breakage by drilling drain holes, either ... it's too pretty to have it ruined!

Since it's sealed, I don't think damp moss would hurt and it's perfect for a small bromeliad, kinda like giving her a pretty bonnet! Smiling

As a cache pot, to protect from moisture you could try to find a small plastic container to place in the bottom and then sit the moss and plant inside.

I use plastic food storage containers inside prettier pots but sometimes when I can't find one small enough to fit, I'll recycle lids to shave cream cans, plastic yogurt containers, etc.

Can't wait to see a photo after you decide what you are going to put in there!

Go for it Gina!
Here is a Bromeliad (Neoregelia?) that I purchased in early 2019 for a little nothing growing as your idea describes.
Growing in a 4"x4" moss filled glass square pot without drainage. Water in plant cups giving the moss planting medium just enough moisture to dampen.
The mother plant has passed but her legacy lives on.

Go for it Gina, I think it will work just fine as long as you don't leave it out in rain where it would fill up with water.

I also say go for it. Your lady needs some hair!

So these aren't broms and they're not mine. A local nursery is very creative. I'm sure you are too.

My favorite has a fern for hair.

I had a friend who put Sweet grass (Muhlenbergia) in one and then she braided the "hair." Sometimes it was in a pony tail.

I've been playing with my 'head'.

With a epiphyllum:

And with the leaves of a :phalaenopsis for a flat top look:

And another look:

I also have this little lady that's either a really small vase or maybe an egg cup. I just stuck a little bloom in her for some cheer.

I'm sure you'll figure something out, Gina.
