Rick Tasco just posted this on Facebook. I share it here for all you who knew Roger and don't have Facebook.

"It is with extreme sorrow that I announce the passing of my partner of 47 years Roger Duncan. He passed away suddenly yesterday morning of unknown causes. I am awaiting the medical examiner's report to see if they have anything definitive. Many of you know that Roger was suffering from back pains for the last month and somehow this may be somewhat responsible. Roger was the backbone of Superstition and it won't be the same without him. He did not want a viewing or celebration of life so posting this on facebook is one way to celebrate his life. He had many friends and customers here and I'm sure they will miss him."

I adored conversing with Roger and this is just heartbreaking to me.

This is very sad news indeed.

Sad news for sure, Leslie. And I am relieved beyond measure that I checked in NGA just now because I had a 'take care of yourself' card addressed to them both waiting in the mailbox for pickup this afternoon. Can't imagine how Rick would feel if it had gone out.

I just saw that message & posed to Rick. Not much that we can say. I had not realized that Roger was that ill. How very sad.

How quick and terrible for Rick. My heart goes out to him for his loss.

Sad news indeed! They have a wonderful business/garden.

what a great loss for the iris world. many to rick. i am deeply sorry for your loss.

Joining in the I didn't know him but still feel very sad for those who did as is sounds like he was a wonderful man. And what I do know is he helped run a wonderful business that I have been very thankful for!!
