So middle of winter here in UK. Very little light and my plants haven't had a significant watering sine late october.
My Parodia chrysacanthion , Mammillaria gracilis and now mammillaria carmenae have all bloomed. Why?
I guess the indoor temps are not ideal (too high) with central heating but i cant understand what is the trigger? has the temps and few rays of sun here and there triggered spring flowering or is this normal behaviour?
thanks
Steve

Not even surprising. I have the parodia hasselbergii, mammillarias heyderi and prolifera blooming, the ceropegia and euphorbia milli haven stopped blooming, and in the last month i had mammillarias matudae and pilcayensis bloom. Tommorow i will check for sedum palmeri and schlumbergera....

@stefan
OK i will just enjoy the show then !
Do you water when they are in bloom? It feels to risky to me as the lack of light will either lead to rot or etiolation

I dont water much in winter anyway. Only had once in 3 weeks for the heyderi and parodia for instance. I am forgetful and lazy....which kinda benefits the plants...

A lot of plants are fall bloomers triggered by shorter days
