Hiya all,
I have one more Cactus needing identified.
We think it's a prickly pair of some sort.
It's very smooth for a cactus with minimal spines that are very short.
It's not in great condition as we have just obtained it and will nurse it back to good health.

A big thank you in advance to all who reply! 🌡🌡πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

I agree almost certainly a form of Opuntia ficus-indica.

Thanks guys!

I was curious about the shape of its 'pads'... these ones seem to be more elongated than the normal 'paddle' shape on the prickly pear cacti that I see regularly.

The photo is not very detailed, so when I get home, I will post some better ones to show more clear what I am saying.
Cheers everyone!

They are called "cladodes", the segments in which cacti like opuntoids and schlumbergera grow..

Wow!! Thanks Skope!
Here is some more photos of the cladodes...😊
Why are they so thin compared to normal ones?

It will do much better planted in the ground someplace. Make sure the someplace is big enough. D'Oh!

It looks like what happens to them when they do not quite get enough sun: they go tall and thin... but eventually will still get huge. I had one that topped 10-15 feet in about 3 years because it was constantly looking for more sun because of the tree it was under. Ones planted in much more sun eventually ended up being huge as well, but first went more wide than tall.
It is what it is!

Ahhh okay... thank you for the info! Yes, it was in a shaded area just out of view of any light.
It should grow much better once planted in the ground & in full sun.
I'll hopefully post some pics on a month or so to show the improved cactus! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Maintain the plants orientation and shade cover, a sudden change , especially in conditions such as yours will make the plant roast like a french fry in the sun....
I recommend shade cloth...
