i've put some lotus seeds in water but although they seem to have sprouted it isn't growing. A lot of time has passed , and i think i have damaged them and thats why they're not growing. Please give me some advice on how to save them and if anything can be done at this point:( thank you.

I am on about my 6th, 7th and 8th packages of lotus seeds.

What I have learned. Start with clean water, change it daily, The seeds should have been nicked on the end when you got them, if not, nick with a knife and take about a 1/8th inch diameter piece of shell off the end. Anyway fresh water, change daily, when you see a bit of green my new strategy is put a couple of grains of miracle grow fertilizer in that water. When the stems are 4 inches long, this time, following directions from one of those packages, I put some quality organic kind of muddy potting soil in the bottom of a container and soaked to get wet, then drained water off and put heavy play sand, a couple of inches, on top of that potting soil, then put my sprouted seedlings in the top edge of the sand and poured clean water on top and put a couple more grains of miracle gro in there. and put them outdoors. They love 80 degree weather, I think my house temp was too cool for leaves to open properly, yesterday the 3 test lotus I put outdoors lived, and one had a leaf open. So I moved the rest this morning. I don't know if I'll be changing the water now that they are sprouted and outside but I have about 4 inches of water above the sand in the dish and I will be maintaining that and seeing what happens
