I love wandering around different suburbs looking at all of the wonderful gardens that people have created.

I came across this beautiful carpet of amazing grass!

I've never seen anything like it, especially here in Perth WA.

That is a pretty cool plant. I can't tell you what it is but I know what it isn't: grass - it has segments.

Your plant reminds me of two different plants with segmented stems and no leaves: Ephedra and Genista. I may have sent you on a wild goose chase.

Unfortunately I don't recognise it. I've had a quick look at some lists of Western Australian native plants and can't find it, either. But I still suspect it is a native.
