help!
I just noticed these tiny holes in the leaves of my succulent. I didn't see any a few days ago. the edges of the holes appear to be slightly dry/crisp. the plant lives in my window sill. the leaves without holes appear to be in good health.
also if anyone can identify this plant that'd be great.

Welcome!

Somethings getting your plant but its no bug I'm familiar with. Can you tell us where you live?

Could this be chemical damage of some sort rather than insect damage? Has anything been sprayed around the plant? Room freshener or something like that perhaps?

Those double matching holes are really intriguing. Do you have a kitty cat? A cactus with a vendetta? I'm at a loss.

I thought if you were in some exotic location, you could have some exotic worm or something (I guess you could dissect a leaf and see what's down there).

Anyone of the other 28 people who have read this, any comments????

Did you try and take the scabs off the succulent? It look kind of like scales to me, but I'm not an expert..

Because of the marks on the bottom picture, there's 2 holes along with what looks like a star type of imprint around the holes my guess would be another cactus. Maybe it's being bumped into an other plant???

Hello all, thank you!

The plant lives next to a tiny asparagus fern that is super soft and could certainty inflict no damage. I do not have a cat that could have harmed it, and I don't wear perfume or use chemicals to clean.
I'm at a loss. the asparagus fern is happy..
what are scales?

hhhmmm Shrug! scales are a hard shell type of insect. Almost like a barnical on the bottom of a boat. I found an article about scale insects. Hope it helps. https://wimastergardener.org/a...

Before I zoomed into the picture I also thought scale, but when you look closely they are symmetrical and triangular. How long have you had it? It really doesn't look like insect damage it looks much more like physical damage. Maybe they have been there since you got it but only recently noticed it, cause whatever it is it does not look new
