Hey all, we obtained Smiling Cobra the first of last spring.
Jessie George gave me one fan as a gift. He kept the other df he had and told me he would keep them in case i killed it.
The fan we have scaped bloomed and rebloomed. We now have three fans. If we get the same results this year we might have a nice clump. It is pollen fertile, even though seeds didnt sprout. Probally our fault. No pods set, but i think that was because plant was weak from move. This flower is a favorite of ours. Big georgous blooms, opens well. This one you can spot from across the garden. I can recommend it to everyone that is in our zone

I also got Smiling Cobra last spring. Got a few blooms on it while it sat in a pot. Expecting improvement from it this year.

I planted Smiling Cobra in the Fall of 2023, 3 fans. By April it was down to one fan. I had no blooms this summer and seem to have missed it in the fan count. Hopefully it built some back. I hope it's not too tender for my yard…

2023 update…yes, Smiling Cobra came through with flying colors! This summer it bloomed from June 27- July 19, with at least 22 flowers counted. It did bloom very short but so did lots of other flowers. By October, it had actually grown to 7 fans…amazing! It is a big splashy flower that is hard to miss. I love the name!
