Here in Southeast Michigan, Spring is just beginning. The first plant to bloom in my yard is this shrub commonly known as 'Andromeda'!
Kind of reminds me Lily of the Valley.

Things in central Ohio are as kooky as ever. Halfway to work, the Bradford Pears are all in full bloom. But the half by my home are not in bloom yet - twenty minutes apart is all it takes to be in 2 different weather zones. Blinking I started some sunflowers indoors and after 3 weeks they did not sprout. So I just reseeded them, so the first ones, of course, decided to sprout.
Thumb of 2020-03-31/cwhitt/906611
Now I expect I will have two sunflowers growing in each pot. Sighing! Mother Nature always has, and always will, know better than me. I tip my hat to you.

Still too cold here in the Pocono Mountains of PA for any blooms yet, but the red tips of Peonies are poking up through the soil ...seed started Foxgloves transplanted last Summer made it through the Winter ... always reliable Catmint ... budding Daffodils ... a patch of Hollyhocks ... and some tiny ferny foliage of Bleeding Hearts are visible. There's also an assortment of bearded Iris and daylilies popping up here and there.

Also did a bit of winter/spring sowing in plastic containers in February and now have some Alyssum, lupines, and shirley poppies coming up.

@bigbill, I want "Andromeda"! That's gorgeous shrub!
Putting these on wish list.
Springtime brings the most colorful garden but summer heat comes too soon.

Such beautiful blooms and interesting beds everyone. I just love seeing the differences in the ground covers and the blooms that burn up here. This is a fun thread!

As always I am late to the party. Here in the desert I have Amaryllis, Iris, Gaillardia, Salvia, free Snapdragons, Several Tecoma shrubs, and volunteer Sweet Alyssum which usually stays around all year.

The last picture is my garden destroyer, I have had to fence all the gardens because he eats everything in sight!!! I wanted a helper but this puppy is jealous of the time I spend in the gardens...LOL

Happy spring to all of you!!!
