Hey, so the previous tenants grew this. Looks like it's probably some kind of Firethorn but I can't find any that quite match it. They've grown it right up against the house, so I really need to be sure it's not going to cause some kind of damage. Thanks in advance.

Don't know what kind of bush it is,but growing next to the house could trap moisture and cause damage to the wood that is the picture as it gets bigger.

It's a Pyracantha (firethorn).
Mine grows next to the house and does not cause any problems. Lovely to watch the bees on the flowers and later the birds taking the berries whilst sitting inside.

Agree with Yorkshire lass.
Pyracantha.....Until you get berries and know the colour.....red, orange or yellow impossible to know cultivar name.
Should be absolutely fine next to your house.
In UK they are often grown up the front of houses./walls
