Does anyone have a good recommendation for one or more hardy plants that will thrive in shady wet soil that also contains a lot of clay? I live in Zone 5 (northern Illinois).

Hello ! How shady/dark? Short or taller plants? Flowering or foliage? Are you open to natives? Plants like Ostrich Ferns, Solomon Seal, Hosta , and Wild Ginger are a few that come to mind.
