My wife pointed this out in a garden while on a walk. She would like to add it to our garden but we have no idea what it is. Thanks in advance.

They are Pasque flower, Pulsatilla vulgaris. They are very similar to the Prairie Crocus but are larger and bloom for a longer period of time. They come in purples, white and red colours and maybe others I'm not aware of. After the bloom fades they have a fluffy seed head that is attractive as well. I love them, they bloom early in the spring and are easy to grow.
