I bought this begonia for my mom years ago. Leaves are the size and shape of Papyrus plant, strange for a begonia. It finally bloomed tiny white blossoms on branching stems (probably because it finally got sufficient light and water.) It's been in that same 1 gallon can for years, gets no respect, but it doesn't complain. I wonder what it is and what it would do if cared for properly. Zone 9b, shade, gets misted but never soaked.

Looks spot on (though mine is far from lush).

So it wants to be in zone 11 Ecuador? No wonder it's grumpy in zone 9b desert. I'll take appropriate measures.

Thanks so much for your expertise.

They can be picky about the heat and lack of humidity....it is kinda hard to know for sure from a picture, but it certainly looks like it. you are welcome.
