I live in Canada and had planted a mandevilla vine which I completely forgot to bring indoors. The vine on the trelis looks completely dead but there are new branches around it and i'm wondering if by some miracle it survived or if it weeds coming up. I have tried searching to see what new growth looks like but all the photos I've found, the plant is much more advanced in growth. Please see attached photo. Thank you!!

It would have to be a miracle for it to survive; I'm afraid the chance of that is nil. Here are a couple of pics of my dipladenia (very closely related to mandevilla) that I overwintered and is just getting started back into growth. The growth you showed reminds me of something familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe a tree sapling of some kind?

Thank you Debbie for your reply. I thought so too but there are multiple branches exactly like the one in the photo I posted in a cluster near the base of the mandevilla which is why I was a bit hopeful

Thanks again! ☺️

Try the scratch test on the trunk. If there is green under the bark, it is alive.
