I used to have huge hostas in front of the Holly bushes but about 2 or 3 years ago, they disappeared and have not come back. My neighbor shared some of her Hostas with me that I replanted in the same place and they died too. Now the holly bushes are dying off. I'm at a loss. Help!

Those aren't hollies they are Abelia's and they are planted too deep in the soil. Loosen the soil around the base of the plant so the roots can get oxygen.. Feel the soil every time before you water to make sure your not over or under watering. It looks like they are planted too deep, Heres a photo of my Abelia
