SC Irish Illumination has a beautiful bloom with a wonderful edge and a well formed flower. It's not the most vigorous daylily, but holds its own and has been winter hardy here. I had to move mine around a bit before it started to take off and found that it needs part shade to look its best in my hot climate. There its flowers really shine. If you want to brighten a part shade spot in your garden I'd say give it a whirl........Maryl

I agree Mary about it doing well in the shade. I've had it for years but I 've only got one cross off it with Wine and Lace that should bloom this year.

I planted this in the Spring of 2022. Let's see if it makes it through the winter! I got a round of bloom this summer from July 10-20 with 5 flowers…very pretty! It didn't put on any extra fans, remaining at 2 by October. It also contracted a bad case of rust.

2023 update…nope. SII did not make it through the winter. I guess this one is really tender if it even has trouble in zone 7.
