Hello everyone! So I was proposing to make an oleander forum because I love oleanders and have been dealing with them for years...

And a fellow member suggested that I make a thread about oleanders in this forum to see how it goes.

Just to see how many people are interested in oleanders, let's chat!

In the sixth picture of "Oleander (Oleander Nerium 'Red Cardinal')" I was taking a photo of this bloom, and then the bug in the picture jumped out of the center (of the bloom) and scared me half to death.

Question - can seriously neglected and overgrown Oleanders be cut down to the ground and allowed to start over, and when is best.

Yes, they definitely can. We cut two oleander bushes down to literally only stems about a foot long each, and they grew into this:


We did it in the summer, and I'd say spring and summer are the best times.
