Probably the best grower here is WB Mom's Cinnamon Rolls. It doesn't get direct sun until about 1:00 p.m. and then four hours or so before it is in shade again. Even so, it does wonderfully well.
We nearly lost it a couple of years ago to moles, it was down to one fan, but it has recovered nicely and is planted in a different place. This photo is old, taken before the move.
As you can see, this photo was taken about ten days ago and the plant is mostly in shade.
Next is WB Good Old Days, the first WB to live here. Again, moles did it in, and this plant is a proliferation and in a different spot where it is doing really well.
WB Butterfly Season--it seems strange but almost every WB we have has a bad history with moles. This one is the same, doing just fine and then reduced to one fan. This one is making a comeback, and if the moles don't start in again, it will be an excellent plant.
WB So Blue Without Teresa--small flower, has a very intense green throat. After being held down for years, guess why---this year is the best its been, with at least seven or more fans and several scapes. I should have moved it, but somehow never did, so it's lucky that the moles have moved on and left it alone at least for this year.
WB Oranges For Christmas and WB On Cloud Nine are just average daylilies for us.
