Greetings and Salutations !!!

As you can see ... this is my very 1st post ... at least I think.
After mastering the lawn, I am moving on to start a flower garden.

Anyway, I planted 10 Dahlias and some of them look like they are growing sideways rather than straight up - see below pics.

What do I do? Dig them up and replant? Put soil horizontally on the stems? Just stake them from the new location of the stem?

Welcome to the forum! All dahlias except the really short varieties need support, like tomatoes. The one in the photo needs to be carefully raised up and tied to a stake or enclosed in a cage. Just be sure you don't pierce the tuber when you drive a stake into the ground if that's the method you choose for support.

@NYMickey - how are those dahlias doing now? Many of us put the stake in the ground before we plant the tuber to help insure they won't fall over.

That is my 2021 plan now that I have gotten some sturdier supports.
The return of perennials in the spring can feel like once again seeing an old friend

Often the stakes remain in place year after year to visually remind me where the tall, medium, and lower dahlias get planted.
