I have a spot in one of my front gardens where I would to plant a daylily which is a large ruffled yellow. Do you have a favorite? A picture would be nice if you have one.

Bill Norris is a good one. Early bloomer and some years rebloom too.

If you want a more modern look, Jolly Good Yellow is a nice one.

But my favorite is Capacity for Wonder. THis is not my pic but one taken from the database. Mine has not bloomed yet so no pics. It's too long to look through last year's pics to find my photos.

Yellow is perhaps my favorite color in daylilies. Here's a couple blooming now:

I agree with the ones above too. One not mentioned and I think is a good plant but gets overlooked for the newer stuff is Yazoo Elsie Hintson. It has a big bloom and nice substance.

Hi Paul,
One of my current favorite registered yellow daylilies is Whatley's Crocodile Jaws (1998). In my central NC garden it grows about its registered 26" height. Big, beautiful, ruffled flower, well branched and budded scapes. I've grown many of Whatley's yellows and this is one of the best in my opinion...excellent plant habit and flower. And unlike some of his other beautiful yellow daylilies, this one has no difficulties opening.

My favorite is Andrew Christian. Although a semi-it grows really well in my northern garden. It reaches the registered 30 inches but the great thing about it here is the bud count. 16 on 5 way branching and over a good length of time starting mid July. A big bloom too. A stand out here

Imperial Lemon--lovely lemon yellow and fragrant, too.
