Couple of years ago I bought a potted purple hydrangea and left it on my front porch. It got watered by me and the Washington state (Olympic Peninsula region) regular rainy seasons. I never removed the water from the plastic pot, which was placed in a ceramic pot. During the winter, it literally sat in water. Once in a blue moon I would empty the water but only when the moon turned blue. That plant produced beautiful flowers and many of them. Last year I moved to a different house and decided to plant the hydrangea in the ground. It didn't produce any blossoms last year nor this year. The new growth is about 3-4 inches. That's it!!! It did the same thing last year. 3-4 inches, died off in the winter and once again 3-4 inches of beautiful, healthy leaves. Has anyone experienced this perplexing situation? If so, please tell me how you got it fixed. Thank you.

Hello, hinldy. Can you please post a picture of the plant? Also, "more exactly", when did you plant it in the ground?
