Hello!

I have this Monstera that was doing fine, but was accidentally yanked from its pot and suffered many damaged roots--so much so that I was considering putting it in a smaller pot but I'm honestly afraid to touch it. It has been declining ever since the root damage about 2-3 days ago (which I expected). A single, new growth leaf died off today. It was a small one closer to the bottom (the stem of the leaf was soft, dark and squishy but doesn't seem to be root rot--unless putting the smaller rooted plant back into the pot caused it.Can't imagine it'd happen that fast though? I should mention that the roots were damaged the same day I watered it, but the damage happened after the watering.

Is there a chance it will recover or should I prepare for its death? I have a few Monstera, but I've never damaged any of the roots so I have no idea what to expect from this.

Thank you to anyone who replies!
