Hey all,
This:
Thumb of 2020-08-26/Darrieb/932f04
is growing up on its own outside my sister's window and we don't know what it is. Friend or foe? It currently stands about 6 feet tall and wide. No sign of any flowers.

Any help is appreciated! We're in zone 9b in Florida, if that helps!

Thanks in advance!
Darrie
P.S. Google seems to think it's a Buttonbush, but, that doesn't seem to quite match. Buttonbush apparently requires part shade and this thing sits in the Florida sun for a full day with no problem. I'll try to get a better shot of the bark if no one can id it just by the leaves.
Moving from New York to the Treasure Coast leaves me feeling like a newbie in the Garden. Nevermind that I've been at it for 35 years! :P

Download the iNaturalist app on your cell phone. It will tell you in a trice.
It's really good for this sort of ID. David

Thanks Mike @calsurf73. I'm reallly hoping that's not it, but, it likely is, even if the leaves are too round and there's been zero sign of flowers or fruit so far. I carefully took a cutting and I'm going to take it to a local nursery to see if they can do a positive ID.

And Thanks to you too David @BigAppleRoseGuy. You're in my former home. How's things in the Big Apple? I miss it.

It misses you too, Darrie. It's hotter than blazes right now, but it's a great place to live.
