Oftentimes, there are important issues that come up during the course of a swap, before it, or after it. This is where I will post those important notices, so keep an eye out here for updates, particularly as we get closer to the swap start time and during the swap.

It is also important to check your Tree-mail for notices that I may send to you directly--or to the group as a whole--usually, in the month directly preceding the swap and during the swap.

Hello, everyone!

If you are already signed up for the All Seeds Swap #8, you should have received a tree-mail from me today (Aug 29) regarding the swap. If you aren't signed up just yet, no worries, you have plenty of time to sign up and get started!

I just wanted to let all members (present and potential) know that as of right now, the seed swap is still going to happen. If that changes, I will make sure to let everyone know well before the seed swap start time. I look forward to this seed swap every year and so far not even 2020 has been able to make me give it up! Big Grin

That said, though, there *will* be some changes to the swap, particularly as the dates are concerned. The best way to stay abreast of any changes is to join the swap so that you can receive email updates. Joining the swap does not obligate you to follow through with it, but will allow you to stay informed and to get any questions answered more quickly.

Thank you, everyone, for your understanding and, as always, thank you for your incredible enthusiasm and kindness! It's those traits that make me so happy to be your host each year.

Later today (Nov 12), I will be looking at where we are seed-wise and whether or not to make adjustments to the multiplier for the swap, so try to get your remaining seeds in as soon as possible if you haven't put all of yours in yet! Smiling Right now, we're looking pretty good for a multiplier increase, but there are multiple factors that I take into account, so we'll have to see how things are looking tomorrow.

Also, anyone who is signed up for the seed swap that still has 0 seeds listed will get an email from me at some point later today (Thursday).

At this point, most or all of you should be building (or already have created) your wishlist by starring the items you want. (Unless you like to live dangerously and want to just wing it when dibbing on things in the swap. Hilarious! ) Remember to check back on the recent events for the swap to see what people are adding last-minute so that you don't miss out on something you might want to add to your list.

One final reminder....things may get crazy the first night or two with so many swap members and SO many seeds. Sometimes things work perfectly, and sometimes the system experiences a hiccup. (The seed swap to the online system is sort of like a thousand trick-or-treaters all showing up at someone's door wanting candy at the same time.) In the unlikely event that you do experience an issue, please let me (or Dave) know and I will do my best to help you!

Last but not least, remember that not everyone wins all of their favorites, but everyone wins a lot of awesome seeds, so have fun and good luck to everyone!

I have some seeds I'm hoping will dry in time.... But they aren't ready yet. If I can, it'll be dragon tongue beans, lambs ear, and holy basil

Getting so excited. Let's hope I remember it every night, last year I forgot a few evenings. I also am I to my knowledge the only person who not just dibs on her ownn seeds, but also sent them out, just for them to be returned to me, lol. Let's try not to this time.

Maul, you make me feel a litter better. I inventoried my seeds in the refrigerator a few weeks ago. Today I compared the list to my wish list and found that I already had some of my wish list seeds! At least we can laugh at ourselves! Hilarious! It's just that this swap leaves you with such a wealth of seeds that I need a small army to get them all in the ground!

Some of you savvy swap-checkers may have already seen this...

...but I changed the swap multiplier. I believe it is our largest multiplier yet (except for the lightning swaps) and I feel pretty good about where it is at now, so make sure that you pick out at least NINE (9) top favorites to get you started for tonight's swap. It will probably be better if you have your 10-15 top favorites handy because, in all likelihood, a few of your top favorites won't be available by the time you try to dib on them. (All part of the fun and excitement!)

I am going to start a separate chat thread for all of you to post your favorite dibbed items and to share what seeds you nabbed that you are most excited about. Big Grin

Hi Thea. Try not to be nervous. Although, I can still remember how nervous I was in my first swap. But after tonight, you will probably be more excited than nervous! That's what I remember, thinking this isn't hard, it's fun!! So much fun. Smiling

It looks like Dnd is leaning towards a 9 multiplier, but hasn't set it in stone yet? Wow! That's bigger than it has ever been. Talk about exciting!! Hurray! Hurray!

Lol! Yep, we are going to start with a multiplier of NINE tonight! Hurray! since it is a short swap, I wanted to increase the multiplier so everyone gets a good number of seeds by swap's end, but I will adjust it tomorrow if it looks like things are getting too unbalanced. Smiling
