Please help identifying this yellow flower/weed that took over my back yard. I would like to find out if it reseeds or if I need to pull them all out by the roots this fall. Thank you

Yes, you will need to pull all the roots out too, since it is a perennial and returns from the same roots each year. It does spread by seed, but mostly spreads by root sprouts (rhizomes).

Thank you so much for identifying the plant and for the advice! I feel like it is going to be a long journey to clear out our back yard.
