I do not have this daylily, but the photos in the database look quite different.

I'm always a little surprised at how much pictures of the same daylily differ on the data base and some do not look like the color description. I planted it this year so I will see, at least in my garden.

After growing daylilies for a few years now I have learned not to put too much confidence in descriptions of daylilies and to accept the differences shown in the data base here. Often I am rewarded with a bloom that looks just like I expected but seldom have I been rewarded with the buds and branches given in the stats.

The color here is quite consistent; never strong yellow, that's for sure. It's a tawny color with a maroonish eye. Low-light photographs and conditions may make the color different. Can be quite attractive, but not as vigorous as parent Light of the World, and certainly not for those who like blazing hot color. I remember it as a ML, but my memory could be faulty.
It still has a place in the garden.

I was curious and just went out and looked at the King of Ages that I planted from Theresa Roth....Roth Daylilys........this year. It has 8 divisions and hopefully some of those will bloom next year. I love those clump shots Mantis.....

It is not a bright color at all I would describe it as a yellowish tan color but with the contrasting eye and edge it is a pretty bloom though.
I agree with Mantis that it is a later blooming flower in my garden than what is registered, it is a keeper in my book

I have grown this one for 3 seasons. This picture was taken the first season, a year after planting. The color then was much more appealing. In the last two years, the color has been more yellow, not as appealing to me. It is also a slow increaser here--only 4 fans now. It does reach the registered height of 38", a bud count of 10 on 3 way branching--not what is registered but here a daylily rarely reaches registered count.

I received this one in May 2018 and it bloomed in July and re-bloomed in August that first year. It has bloomed 2019 and 2020 for me growing as registered except that I don't get 4 way branching or rebloom on a consistent basis. Beautiful blooms always open well and have a great edge. Listed as a more difficult than average pod setter, I have had it set some pods every year- just not as many as others will. No real problems with this plant otherwise. Stately and tall, very handsome, solid moderate growth. The color of the bloom varies with temperature in my experience. Typically opens more of a lighter pinkish color in the morning and turns yellowish apricot as the day wears on. I have had them open with more of the yellowish color in the morning when temps are very hot. Explains why there is so much variation in the pictures in the database. Either way it is a beautiful bloom to my eye and I am happy with this plant.
