Hi, this succulent was living at a west-facing window cill, so my guess is that it grew lanky because of the lack of sun, would you say that's true? Also, if I wanted to propagate some babies from its leaves, should I cut them off near the tip of the leaves? Thank you!

That's Mother of Thousands. That is just the way it is supposed to look.

Those little plantlets on the leaves will fall off of the leaves and root. Or you can gently pull them off.

It's doing great, I love how the plantlets have already fallen and started to grow bigger, your doing a good job...
