I noticed that on one gardener's post, they had cut off a scape with buds and put it in a vase. I do have some scapes with buds on them, and as it gets later and later in the season, I'm wondering if I can cut those scapes and put them in a vase in the house. Does someone know if that will work, or perhaps, do the buds have to be a certain size or showing some color for them to bloom in the house? Thanks for your input!

Pink ruffles, I think it depends. Sometimes you get lucky and they all open inside. Sometimes a few will open and the rest will drop off. Sometimes they all just wither up. The closer to opening they are, the more likely they are to open in the house. If it's a question of bringing them in or losing them altogether, I would bring them in.
