Do you know what happened to my roses?

These diseases have spread from one rose to another. I think I need to deal with it ASAP. But I don't know what caused these marks on the leaves and the proper way to solve it.

It starts from the new leaves. The same case for the other rose as well. I really don't want to cut the branch since there are three flowers on it. Maybe remove the leaves first?

Looking at the back, it seems to be some type of insect potentially eating the leaves and causing damage but it looks like maybe rose rust as well

Anyway, I think if you don't want to cut it I would just do a fungal/insecticide spray for now to control it for now (:

Anyway, I've removed all infected leaves and applied the pesticide and fungicide. Hope it works, finger crossed...

All in all, they looked pretty good. It wasn't time for panic.

Something munched on a few leaves, which otherwise didn't look bad. There may have been a few spider mites, but a garden hose was probably the best remedy. There was VERY MINOR botrytis on the blooms.

There was really no need for the chemicals.

I tend to be overly cautious when it comes to fungus because it spreads somewhat easily at my home :P

I agree they don't look too bad but not to worry, Daniel, nothing the OP did will kill them. They will just need a little longer to grow back new leaves but they will be fine.

Shall I remove the spiders in my garden and give the garden a spring clean? I am a lazy gardener. There are a few spider webs and fallen leaves and different kinds of debris in my balcony. And I am in Australia, a country full of spiders. But my friend also told me spiders are good for my garden...

It's fine. The insects and fungi are with my roses all the time. Every time what I do is cut them all and apply the pesticides and fungicides. I hope it works this time as well.

Leave the spiders alone they eat the bugs that eat your plants.

Never remove spiders except for spider mites! Spiders are good guys in the garden. They take care of many of the bad bugs that destroy your plants.

What didn't work?

You have to remember that fungicides will only prevent new and uninfected leaves from getting spots. Any existing leaves that are already infected, even if they showed no signs of infection when you sprayed, will still spot and die. It is not unusual for some leaves to continue to spot after you use a fungicide.Once all the infected leaves have died off continuing to spray at regular intervals will prevent new foliage from getting infected.

The issue does not look life-threatening to me; don't panic.

When the leaves on my roses get spotted or get funky I remove all the leaves that are effected, which could sometimes mean all of them. Sometimes they grow back healthy. If not, some organic neem oil wouldn't hurt. Follow instructions. Probably have to reapply after it rains.

Neem or any other type of oil can be risky. If it is hot and sunny it will burn. Yes, the disease will be gone but then so will all your leaves!
