Hello! This beaty I'm about to re-pot in a new arrangement. Any idea what her genus / species is? Also, is it ok to remove the little babies on either side or should I just let it spread? If I remove do I need to let each baby callous over before re-potting them? THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

Looks to me like Anacampseros
Sand Rose

edit to add a link from database... Sand Rose (Anacampseros rufescens)

personal preference...if it was mine, I think I'd let it clump/spread... but it's really up to you....

I'd let it grow a bigger colony before separating off any babies. I think it makes a sculptural, definitive clump. Of course, it depends on how much space has been alotted in the arrangement and what other plants are sharing that... ? terrarium.
I'd love to see it when you're finished.

Hey terrafirma, thanks for helping me ID my baby. I haven't rehomed that one yet, Serpent. But here's my first new arrangement I made last night. P.S. I'll keep the Sand Rose together and let her spread out.

Thanks! BTW, its definitely a sand rose according to those pics in the forum. It also shot up a long stalk in the summer that produced a few blooms.

If it were mine, I would just put it back in its original container for now, and let it grow there till early Spring. Light levels and intensities are getting shorter now, so it is not really the time to repot them. I would not do terrarium setting for it either, it will just be problematic with drainage and excess moisture.

In mid to late Spring, that will be the time I will repot to a wide mouth, but shallow container with drain holes in a gritty media mix to allow more area to grow.

I tip my hat to you. Thanks for reaching out tarev. Only reason I'm repotting is bc I picked up a ton of tiny succulents on sale this week, so I'm making some nice arrangements with everything I have. I'll be sure to give this one plenty of spackle to branch out, or who knows it could end up a lone wolf in a container by itself. I haven't decided what all is going together, and still have almost 40 little succys to arrange!
