Hi everyone! I'm looking to move into a new neighborhood and I've been trying to identify this tree I see around. I thought it might be India Hawthorn but the fruits don't seem right (they are not berries).

It sure looks like Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis indica) to me! Those green unripe fruit/berries in your second photo will ripen to purplish-black.

ok wow thank you! those fruits seemed way too big compared to the berries I saw in other photos. I appreciate your lack of hesitancy on the ID!

It's a very popular landscape plant in So. Cal. because it is not fussy about care and can be pruned into many shapes and has pretty blooms in spring.

@ctcarol the flowers are beautiful and continue to bloom!
I was also so intrigued to see so many forms as a low shrub, but then these topiary-like trees are also fascinating.
