Rolling my eyes. My jade tree is getting ready to flower again this fall, thought you might like to see it. Started from a single leaf 47 years ago. Goes out on the deck in June and comes back in before frost. The flowers come out in November. It is just budding now, going to be a ton of flowers this year.

Started by rooting a single leaf in the summer of 1973. I'll get another photo when it is in full bloom.

Very nice! Smiling

Here's a plant that's been in the ground for about 15 years, and been topped a few times during that period. Just now barely starting to flower.

Jade plants can grow in the ground here and they are incredibly drought tolerant that way. This plant went 7 months without a drop of rain or other water, which explains its deflated look.

Welcome!

Ive had a few Jade plants over the years, never had one flowered.

I may have not kept them long enough,I traded or gave them away too soon.
However they are one of my favorites. nodding

Stony your jade is so great! I bought a Crassula Jack Crosby when it was blooming with pink flowers a few years ago, but it has never re-bloomed for me.

Arlene, how cold do your winters get? I can't leave mine outdoors, protected or not. At least I don't think so...I'm trying to remember if I've tried. I know it has gotten damaged in unexpected freezes.

Sorry, it's an indoor porch. Outside it would get frostbite!

What a beauty!

I'll be honest. I've never been overly interested in jades, until recently seeing some particularly bushy specimens and others in bloom. I went for a walk today actually, and saw some big beautiful jade plants in bloom. Some with green leaves, some with red.

Someone had a few growing as highlights in some small beds in their gardens. Maybe 3 feet high, nicely shaped, red leaves and blooming away. They were gorgeous. Smiling

Baja, there's a little someone in the first shot, too—lower left. I love the white flowers against the red-tipped leaves. Any idea what prompts them to bloom? Climate, age, culture, variety?
