PLEASE make sure your seed listings show the YEAR seeds were collected/bought in order to qualify for this swap.

I will be posting a "check in" thread asking those of you who are signed up to confirm you are participating this year. Some people sign up and hold a place and never list and I have to remove them a few days before the swap, but this is unfair and holds a place someone else can use to sign up. This swap is currently limited to 30 participants.

Dont forget to put your name/address in the profile for EACH swap you do. This is so when it's time to mail seeds back you, the host has all the info needed. It holds up your seeds and is a pain if you I have to chase you down for info.

A few notes for the newbies who haven't participated in a swap here before.

Please be sure to watch the video tutorial (link at the top of the swap page)

A couple days before the swap, I will announce the number of tickets you get at the start of the swap. This is based on a number of factors including how many seeds are offered.

When the swap opens at 7pm EST January 9th (your swap information may be in server time if you have not changed your time zone in your profile) little brown treasure boxes will appear on your "Access your wish list" page next to each seed offering. This is what you click in order to "buy" that particular seed.

You should have gone thru the swap offerings before hand and rated them 1-5 stars (5 being your most wanted) per the video, and the 5 star items will be at the top of the page of your wish list, alphabetically.

In the past few swaps, the server has been overloaded with 30-40 people all accessing the swap when the "gates open" at 7pm EST. You may have to refresh the page a couple times, but Dave tells us if the swap doesnt open (treasure chests appear) right away, take a breather and resist hitting refresh over and over...this just jams up the swap with everyone trying to refresh at the same time....Dave is working on the issues experienced.

When the swap opens the first night, you will receive the # of tickets announced by me (watch the important messages from host thread) a couple days before the swap....The next night, that number doubles, and the 3rd night, doubles again. In addition,

On day 1 you get 0.5 tickets for each item you sell.
On day 2 you get 0.34 tickets for each item you sell.
On days 3 and 4 you get 0.20 tickets for each item you sell.
Starting with day 5, you get 0.10 tickets for each item you sell.

This swap is only 3 days (nights) but above for info purposes in general.

Pointers for new participants:

Be sure to check off the "exclude no quantity" box at the top left of the page on your wish list. This means that any seeds taken will NOT appear so you wont have to scroll thru to find the available offerings once bidding starts.

Refresh your page as needed

At the top of the page, you can see how many more "tickets" you have (ie if you have earned more for sold and/or what is left of those you have used).

Bidding goes fast at 7pm EST when the swap opens, but some people dont get to the swap when it opens, and/or continue to "buy" seeds with additional tickets, so keep checking to see if you have any more tickets left before the next night of the swap. If you have tickets, you can use them any time, and each night of the swap are awarded more new tickets at 7pm EST

With people coming and going and a number of beginners or those with limited listings, I may have to once again adjust this swap, probably reducing days I will wait until Thursday night or Friday morning to review what has been listed, hoping that everyone will finish their listings by then.

Remember that you will receive x number of tickets that will multiply each night, but also extra tickets based on what seeds sell..si it is to your advantage to offer seeds that are less common, more wanted.

IMPORTANT INFO

Tomorrow, Saturday night at 7pm EST the swap starts (if you're a different time zone, dont forget to adjust for that).
The swap has been set back to a 3 day swap, and I am setting the ticket multiplier at 4 given the listings and # of players.

First night you will earn 4 tickets, night 2 you get 8, and night 3 you get 12.
Then you earn additional tickets for the seed packs you sell, the first night is 1/2 pack for each sold and decreases each night.

Please recheck your listings in case you have zero quantity, and either update or remove

Remember to go to your swap profile and enter your name and mailing address NOW for the mailing of your seeds. You must do this for each swap...doing it once does not give the information to the host for every swap and enter you. If you dont fill in this info, I can't chase you or look thru 19 mailing envelopes for your correct address, and will end in a delay in getting your seeds back to you.

If you have questions please let me know! I will be on and off line during tomorrow before the swap starts, and of course will be at the swap when gates open and for a while til things settle down and everyone seems to b done with their first tickets.

Hey Val,

I'm pretty sure some of my numbers went back down to zero if they were offered in the swap that just finished. I'll get them updated tonight.
