I didn't order any rose as I am totally out of space. I might concert my vegi garden later but not this year.
I will get a replacement of Ancient Mariner from DA. They sent me something they don't know what it is . LOL

AH, Peace Rose, Ma always had a nice one.
I am going to have to get one as just reading that makes me feel sad.
I save most of my rose tags and I found the horde last year; going through the pile makes me feel like I should just raise spurge and oxalis which I seem to be much more successful growing.

Most were potted roses from a discount seller but I am still amazed at how many have cycled through two gardens in forty some years.

I will order the three dark red roses on the Black Roses thread but now Christmas has left a hole in my pocket.

My nineteen roses just arrived from Palatine and have been planted. As far as I'm concerned these count as 2021 purchases. I just received my Heirloom Roses calendar. Unfortunately, Donna looked at it and found three "must have" roses--Because She Served, Singing' the Blues and First Prize. I'll look for these in the Spring.

Zuzu, only Abracadabra is confirmed from RV, and I ordered three of them to hedge against ordering only one that might be mislabeled. I've wanted this rose for a long time and was wait-listed, so I'm not taking any chances, LOL. I'm on the wait list with RV for Precious Dream (to replace one I lost years ago), Treasure Trail, and Unconditional Love. These will be my first foray into moss roses, and I like these because they are smaller and are known to occasionally repeat. I'm also on the wait list for Mel Huse (another moss) and Wonderstripe with Heirloom.

George Burns, Purple Tiger, Singin' in the Rain, and Twilight Zone are coming from Regan, and I ordered the Carruth cultivar of Twilight Zone.

Red Ribbons is coming from High Country, to replace one that I lost during the big move 7 years ago. It's such a blooming machine, and is perfect as a low-growing rose on a slope or in a rock garden, and I've found I really do miss it when I look back on photos of my former gardens.

Well, this season is going to be my last big hurrah of ordering lots of roses! Next yr I hope to concentrate more on rooting cuttings. I am mostly replacing ones that I lost in the fire. It's nice to hear from you, Beth. I'm glad to see that you're now getting your garden back together.
I myself did not intend to buy any new roses this year; am trying to plant out my pot-ghetto roses, but can't do large numbers all at once because of my problems with watering (no running water out at my land where my garden is). But then I saw that Rose Barni was offering Quicksilver this year-a rose for which I have been longing,and which wasn't available here in Europe before,so of course I had to get 2 of those, and then, to get the free shipping offered,added on 3 other roses : Twilight Zone (also new to them this year) Munstead Wood,and a Japanese rose called Sheherazade https://www.helpmefind.com/gar... 3 ceanothus Conchas. And then,worse yet, when we went to buy our Christmas tree at the garden center, I saw a strong-looking potted Ebb Tide, and had to get that, too.
As it is, my intention was to put out no more than 25 new plants, trees included; instead the grand total will be 35 plants -all but 7 of which are roses. So, as always, I know I've over-reached myself, and am in for another summer of hard work-unless , by some miracle, we are blessed with a rainy summer...ah, well, a girl can dream, lol!

If I was not getting old and lazy, I would mathematically figure out how much space all those roses take spacing a minimum of 16 inches apart and depending on type, some would be three feet apart.

All of you , I admire but am astonished at the size of your gardens.
Now when I was working full time, my two veggie gardens and two rose gardens looked better and go more attention.
At one I would come home and be already grungy so , dirt is dirt, get to work, but now as often as not I have kick myself in the buttocks to get out there and do what used to be the every day norm.

I have some miniature roses from the super market that are a pastel orange color and a "christmas" one that is a stripped red and white color which i've been looking for (:

I thinking about ordering Sweet Arlene/Cafe Ole to go with them and making a mini rose garden in my house!!

Daniel have you seen all the David Bang minis at K & M? So striking! I had actually tried to order 2 but I emailed with a change and by the time the confusion was sorted out it was too late to plant so I put off ordering and saved some money.

Back home in Paradise I had 1/3 acre, with almost 1800 roses. They were crammed in beds, sometimes barely a foot apart! But since the Camp Fire burned our town pretty much down, including everything we had, we chose not to go back. The town council is making it very difficult for people to move back. Too many hoops to jump thru to get everything approved. And being that we are in our early 60's, we decided to buy a house about 45 min away. (needed to be near my husband's job plus near the grandkids who moved another 25 min farther away) The property we bought is just under 3 acres, and a good portion is covered in walnut trees. But about half of those are dead or dying (the previous owners lived here for 2yrs and apparently didn't water them). Anyway, I have a pretty big canvas to work with. The front yard is mostly hedges, which will come out eventually and I will be doing beds all over the place! Gonna take a lot of time. I only hope I can get it done before I die!! LOL We dug up about 800 surviving roses from Paradise and moved them here last yr. I keep adding more. I don't want to get back up that high again tho, because it was a lot of work, especially in such a small space...

I ended up buying from Burling because she's close to where I live so it's cheap shipping and the roses have a better chance at surviving
