Hi, I haven't grown daylilies for a number of years and hope to order a few online. They're beautiful but I have limited space for them. Plus I'm a senior who keeps intending to cut back on gardening work:) I won't get into hybridization. I garden in Calgary (Chinook country).

If any of you like plants from some of the Canadian online nurseries, I'd appreciate your recommendations. Thanks. Joy

I have ordered from several online sellers including Fairyscape, Harbour Breezes, Pheasant Gardens, Nova Scotia Daylilies and Nottawasaga. I know I am missing a few, but this will get you started. Most don't update their catalogues until into the new year.

I'm going to get a few from Bryan Culver for the first time. I saw one of his I wanted to hybridize with and ordered a couple more to go with it.

Since I'm in the US, I emailed to ask him some questions about his experience with the mail service and he actually called me and we had a great chat about a lot of things so I'm thinking he's a nice guy.

He has some pretty looking previous introductions for as little as $25.

'Javagallowa' ... I'd like to suggest that you go to 'CHARLOTTE'S DAYLILY DIARY' on this ATP Daylilies Forum .... Listed on the main page are about 50+ Canadian daylily sources listed predominantly by their retail nursery names - as well as their province. ... Most are in Ontario & Quebec Provinces plus there are some located in The Prairies & The Maritimes .... ALL are highlighted by province in that column (Thus easy to find by simply scanning down the list) . Some are simple retail nursery operations ... Some are actual daylily breeders (aka Hybridizers) who sell out of their personal gardens and/or by Mail-Order ....

Additionally, once you have the breeders' names you are able to find many of them listed 'inside' (On the 2nd page) BY their family name (ie 'Hillside' is actually Canadian breeder Dave Mussar who has several Introductions - both diploid & tetraploid - registered with our AHS.)

Lastly, I have personal experiences with many through actual visits to their gardens. The Ontario Daylily Society (ODS) has organized tours sometimes & on-site picnics for example. Plus, the AHS Region #4 has also arranged similar on-site visits over the years. (BOTH have dedicated websites)

Oooops! ... 'Last Lastly' .... Please don't be concerned by many of the Quebec locations & Breeders having their info listed in French. Many have a simple 'switch' to click on to bring up their site into English , and there are translating tools available to bring into use also. Several of the Quebec breeders routinely participate in AHS Regional Meetings/Tours & also our own ODS Can-Am meetings.

Trust this information is of assistance.

Note : Jardin de la Douce Folie is a great seller however their gardens/website has been closed for some time now . Hoping to see it reopen this year but time will tell .

I can highly recommend Coral from Nova Scotia daylilies HOWEVER they are not doing mail order this coming season (so very disappointing ) , Allan from Harbour Breezes Nova Scotia and Cecil from Pheasant Gardens Nova Scotia . Linda from Hemerocallis Montfort Quebec, Charmaine from Fairyscape Daylilies Ontario , Jocelyn from Artemesia Daylilies Ontario and Julie from Nottawasaga daylilies . Also from your neck of the woods Carolyn & Jeff Bondy from Gablehouse Farms Red Deer Alberta. I have had great plants from all of these growers

Thank you so much.

It's so helpful to have recommendations from others who have successfully ordered from various daylily suppliers.

I'm loving the daylily browsing, but do wish I was both younger and had more garden space:)
