"In my opinion, the shape of the first seedling is better than that of the Raver Girl. If it has a good branching and the number of buds, then you must register! Moreover, black irises are still in short supply."
"As for the iris with the color of old gold, it will surely catch the eye in the garden"
The black toned seedling, according to my notes, reaches 36" tall, has 7-9 buds, sometimes 10, two fairly wide branches, plus a spur, and blooms late mid-season in my area (third week of May) Sloooow grower and increaser tho, and doesn't seem to have the amount of vigor and hardiness that i like to see, but i'll continue to work with it.
The Cinnamon Bells seedling is a decent performer with fairly rapid increase, unfortunately lacks in branching and buds, but I love the color. I'm hope that further crossing with other better branching members of that color class will improve things. Planning to cross it with some of Keppel's warm tinted reverse bitones, like Brass Lamp, Idle Rich, Mood Ring, etc.
