I just discovered that Bill Maryott has been very busy! He has not only posted his new Summer 2013 Introductions, but he has also added new dayliiles (with pictures) to his general listing for 2013 and just added prices within the last few days! I just went through everything and came up with my "wish list" -- WOW! I'll have to save some for a future order(s) so I can take advantage of his summer specials, but he has a wonderful group of goodies coming up! And I guess we still can't order until around March -- drat!

I like every one of his new introductions, especially Black Phantom, California Classic, Energized, Envious (large green throat!), Gobbledegook, Jumping Jack, Musical Review, Orchid Prelude and Ruffles On Ruffles. But I'll have to whittle this down to a couple of newbies for my first order, and I'm so drawn to the green throats that I'll probably order ENVIOUS and ORCHID PRELUDE.

https://daylilygarden.net/cgi-...

Edit: Oh yes, I forgot to add that he's listing his new introductions as "Single Fan only unless stock permits." I think they've been having so much rain lately that perhaps it's impeding growth this time around.

We looked last night. I saw several from his general list that I would like to order. We have to limit ourselves because planting space is very limited here. I like Ruffles On Ruffles and Stunningly Different, too, and I think Goobledegook was the other one. Those will have to wait or else get lucky that Bill will send one as a bonus. That is the way we got Coffee House this fall. I really wanted CH and was tickled to get it in our shipment. I wish hybridizers would not tempt me with all these beautiful daylilies because I lack self discipline! Smiling Drooling Rolling my eyes. Big Grin

Big change this year on the Maryott's website -- THEY'RE NOW ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR 2013!

Just placed my first one, and all I can say is thank heavens they won't charge my credit card until June! That makes me feel somewhat better...

Thanks for letting us know, Betty. I placed our order, too. I doubt it will be our only one once the weekly specials begin this summer. I only ordered 3 new daylilies to us and several that we already have for additional fans. So, I will only be needing three new planting holes Whistling .

I ordered two of his new introductions, ENVIOUS and ORCHID PRELUDE, and then five others: CITRIX, KENNESAW MOUNTAIN HAYRIDE, LADY DUCK, RED SAPPHIRE and TET. TERRY LYNINGER. And I'm thrilled with this order, plus there are other new introductions and others from his general listing that I also would like to get, but I'll wait until his summer special time for those! Which new ones did you order, Doris?

Betty, you will like LADY DUCK! I was glad to see it on his sale list. Our RED SAPPHIRE has not bloomed yet but should this coming summer. We added it summer before last as a single fan. Our KENNESAW MOUNTAIN HAYRIDE blooms paler than the hybridizer's picture but is still very pretty. CITRIX is always a reliable bloom here. Don't have TET. TERRY LYNINGER, only the dip version. Do have NEW PARADIGM which is very similar to its parent.

I did not order any of Bill's new intros though a few were tempting! The new ones from his general sale are HUCKLEBERRY YOGURT, KEEP ON LAUGHING (got an extra small SF on the Lily Auction a couple of years ago that finally died this summer), and NINA VERHAERT (been wanting this one for the teeth but price had been too high).

We are getting these that we already have but want more fans for these good prices:
WHEEL OF TIME
ANSWERING ANGELS
BLUEGRASS MEMORIES (one of our all time favorites)
CALMING EFFECT
JANE MAHAN
TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD
EIGHT MILES HIGH (This one we have had for several years and struggles. I have moved it a couple times but want to try it in a more full sun location.)
NANCY'S QUILT (a favorite) [BOGO]
PIRATE KING [BOGO]
ROYAL GILDED MAJESTY [BOGO] (Got this one from Maryott this past fall so it has not bloomed but I like the bright colors, and it is BOGO Free)

And, there are a few more that I will order if the summer weekly specials are too good to pass up! Big Grin

That's a great collection of daylilies that you have purchased! I got ROYAL GILDED MAJESTY from him a couple of years ago and really love it!

If you order with a credit card number, they don't actually put through the charge to the card until just before they ship in June, or whenever you indicate they should ship. But they don't start shipping until June 15th, so sometime in the first half of June they will do the charge.

Thank heavens! I need to get over the charges to all the other nurseries before the Maryott charges start!

I love Bill's site, but ..... where I live daylilies start blooming in April and June is just too hot to plant. I did order a couple of years ago. His plants barely hung on, most died, and I no longer grow any I received from him. June is hot, hot, hot in Central FL and it's not time to plant. Now I buy closer to home and much earlier in the season.

Arlene, I got my Maryott order mid September. Also planted them in September, they are doing great! So I think he probably ships twice a year.
I know what you mean about buying close to your zone but Maryott is in zone 9 also and I like his plants because they are adapted to the heat.
It's way to hot by June to plant anything here also. I agree

He ships from June 15 until Sept. 30th. I believe he ships in the order they were placed unless otherwise specified. When I order from him I always ask for Sept shipping.

It's way too hot here in Bakersfield by June, too, so I pot up the daylilies and leave them on my patio, and then I put them in the ground when the seasons change and it cools enough. And it seems like each year almost half of them bloom over the summer and into the fall in the pots.

I ask for mid to late Sept. shipping because it is too hot here to receive new daylilies prior to September. This way we can add more daylilies once he starts his weekly specials. When adding to previous orders, I always tell him and he adjusts the shipping charges.
